ಕಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಅನೇಕ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇನೊ ಅನ್ನಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಒಂದು ಹಿನ್ನೋಟವನ್ನು, ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಡಬಹುದಾದ, ಕಣ್ತೆರೆಸುವ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಕಲಾಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ‘ಪೂರ್ವಿ / Purvaee’ – ಪ್ರಚೋದನಾತ್ಮಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ / Evoking Pedagogic Lineages!
ಕಿರಣ್ ನದಾರ್ ಮ್ಯೂಸಿಯಂ ಆಫ್ ಆರ್ಟ್(KNMA), ನೋಯ್ಡಾ ಗ್ಯಾಲರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿತ ಕಲಾಕೃತಿಗಳು 20ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಮೊದಲಾರ್ಧದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಛಾಯೆಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಚಿತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ದೃಶ್ಯಾವಳಿ ಮುಖೇನ ಹೇಳುವ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ. ತಲೆಮಾರಿನಿಂದ ತಲೆಮಾರಿಗೆ ಹರಿಬಿಡುವ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಹೇಗಿತ್ತು, ಹೇಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಎನ್ನುವ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಚಿತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ಕಲಾಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ.
ನಂದಲಾಲ್ ಬೋಸ್, ಬೆನೊಡೆಬೆಹಾರಿ ಮುರ್ಖರ್ಜಿ, ರಾಮಕಿಂಕರ್ ಬೈಜ್ ಅವರಂತಹ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರ ಗರಡಿಯ ನೆರಳಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮದೆ ಸ್ವಂತಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ಸುಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣ್ಯನ್, ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ಎ. ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ಕಣ್ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ಮೃಣಾಲಿನಿ ಮುಖರ್ಜಿ, ಕೆ.ಪಿ.ಕೃಷ್ಣಕುಮಾರ್, ಪುಷ್ಪಮಾಲಾ ಎನ್., ಭಗತ್ ಸಿಂಗ್, ಮನೀಶಾ ಗೆರಾ ಬಸ್ವಾನಿ ಅವರ ಕಲಾಕೃತಿಗಳು ಆಪ್ತವೆನಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟದ ಕಲಾಸಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.

‘Purvaee’ – Evoking Pedagogic Lineages

This exhibition features over 200 works from the KNMA collection, with many being historically significant and produced in the first half of 20th century.
Purvaee, or the ‘eastern wind,’ explores creative practices of artist-pedagogues conversing with those of the subsequent generations while studying the paths of artistic exchanges that shape present day art. The teachings of Nandalal Bose, Benodebehari Mukherjee, and Ramkinkar Baij laid the foundation for artists like KG Subramanyan, Krishna Reddy, and A. Ramachandran, among others. One finds impressions and affinities in the works Mrinalini Mukherjee, KP Krishnakumar, Pushpamala N., Bhagat Singh, and Manisha Gera Baswani that echo the masters’ artistic expressions and values.
The exhibition traces institutional resemblance in styles of expression and observation through the artworks. Explore how these teachings evolved into individual practices while engaging with the innovative shifts across generations of artists.
