G.S.B.Agnihotri, Artist / Journalist

Ganapathi Agnihothri, known as Agni, was born in Kumta and grew up in Mysuru, where he studied art. He later settled in Bengaluru and pursued journalism. He holds Diplomas in Drawing & Painting and Art Master from Sri Kalaniketan School of Art and a Master’s degree from the University of Mysore.

Agni has participated in numerous group exhibitions across India and held over 14 solo exhibitions in Karnataka, Goa, Pune, and Mumbai. His artworks are featured in corporate establishments, galleries, and museums. 

His honours include the Karnataka Lalithakala Academy Annual Award for Etching Print, Graphic Printmaking Fellowship, Ministry of Culture Fellowship, multiple Mysuru Dasara Awards, the F. N. Souza National Award (2024), and the Government of Telangana Solo Sponsorship Award (2025).

Known for his abstract and contemporary art, Agni’s works are admired for their conceptual depth and vibrant colour compositions.
